In April 2014, Nike revealed the all-new Nike Mercurial Superfly 2014 World Cup Boots. Two years after the launch of the first-ever Nike Mercurial Superfly Boots with the Dynamic Fit collar, Nike will finally release the next generation of the cutting-edge speed boot.

This is the next-generation Nike Mercurial Superfly 2016-2017 Soccer Cleat.
The Nike Mercurial Superfly Euro 2016 Football Boot boasts an outstanding design that is made to showcase the innovations of the next-gen Nike Mercurial Superfly Boots. The Nike Mercurial Superfly Euro 2016 Next-Gen Soccer Cleats features the main color 'Total Crimson'. Nike combines the flashy main color with black 'speed ribs' on the upper and a color gradient, while the Nike Swoosh and the Mercurial are Volt.
The Dynamic Fit collar of the next-gen Nike Mercurial Superfly Euro 2016 and Copa America 2016 Boots is black, whereas the sole plate is Volt to complete the striking design.
Like the last generation of the Nike Mercurial Superfly Boots, the next-generation Nike Mercurial Superfly 2016-2017 Soccer Boots combine a sock-like collar concept with an ultra-thin upper and Flywire strings for a lockdown fit with no distractions and ultimate speed.
The collar of the next-gen Nike Mercurial Superfly 2016 Boots is as high as the collar of the fourth generation, and the upper of the Nike Mercurial Superfly 2016-2017 Cleats is again made from Flyknit. Nike combines the knitted upper with what will be promoted as all-new 'speed ribs'. The remarkable speed ribs are, however, in fact just Flywire threads. There are much more of the supportive threads than used for the last generation, made for even more lockdown.
The next-generation Nike Mercurial Superfly 2016-17 Boots again come with Nike's All Conditions Control technology and a thin layer of NikeSkin for increased ball control in any weather conditions. To further lock down the foot, Nike also introduces a totally new internal cage.

But the Nike Mercurial Superfly 5 Boots do not only feature a new upper design, the boots also come with an all-new sole plate. The outsole of the next-gen Nike Mercurial Superfly 2016-2017 Boots is no more made from carbon-fibre but from Nylon. Nike also brings the split toe design to their speed boot, which was introduced for the first-gen Nike Hypervenom in 2013.
The studs of the Nike Mercurial Superfly 2016-2017 Boots are much more ankled than the cleats used for the previous generation. The outsole of the next-gen Nike Mercurial Superfly 2016-2017 Boots is the same as the one of the next-gen Nike Mercurial Vapor 11 Boots.
The Hyper Crimson, Volt, Black and Pink Blast Nike Mercurial Superfly V Boots will be launched ahead of the Euro 2016 in France. It's expected that the boots retail at the same price as the previous generation (275 USD, 275 Euro, 230 GBP).
